These aren’t marked on maps, and they don’t show up on the usual tour itineraries, but locals know every ridge and valley by memory. When you wander deeper into the reserve, you begin to see traces of this history in the form of forgotten inscriptions, tiny shelters carved into rock, and viewpoints that feel untouched.

The next morning, we headed out on a buggy tour deep into the desert.
Our guide stopped often for photos and shared stories that brought the landscape to life. After lunch, our ride back to the main road was waiting, and Zoor even tried arranging a hot air balloon for us, though the weather didn’t allow it.
